Students in the 21st Century After School Club at Eastford Road Elementary School participated in a basketball clinic that was run by women in the community. They spoke to the students about the importance of hard work, practice and school in their careers. They led a clinic that included skills such as shooting, defense and teamwork. The following are the community members from Southbridge that participated (many of them work or were in Southbridge Public Schools):
Terry Simon- member of Bay Path girls varsity basketball team
Yesenia Ortiz- member of Southbridge High School girls varsity basketball team
Julitza Delgado- former Southbridge High School girls varsity basketball team standout and collegiate basketball player
Taylor Hall- former collegiate basketball player and current teacher at Southbridge Middle/High School
Jill Lombardi- Head coach of Southbridge High School girls varsity basketball team, and teacher at Southbridge Middle/High School
