Kelly Gelineau joins Southbridge Public Schools after many years in education. She started her career as a teacher for Eastford Elementary School (Eastford, CT) and then worked as the Language Arts Consultant for Putnam Elementary School (Putnam, CT). Most recently she was the Literacy Coach and then spent the last three years as the Assistant Principal of the Riverside Magnet School at Goodwin University in East Hartford, CT. She is excited and energized for the opportunity to bring her experience working as an administrator in a diverse, urban school to Eastford Road Elementary School.
While an assistant principal, Ms. Gelineau worked with all stakeholders to create improved systems for instruction, intervention, PBIS, behavior, and culturally responsive teaching. As a parent and educator, Ms. Gelineau is passionate about creating positive relationships among students, teachers, staff, administration, and the community. She believes that the core of education is building and strengthening relationships to create a sense of community and belonging among all stakeholders.
Ms. Gelineau brings her love and knowledge of literacy instruction into all aspects of her work. As a reading teacher, coach and specialist, she understands the enormous role of excellent literacy instruction to support our students, as they learn to read and then are able to read to learn.
She is very excited to work with the Southbridge community and to partner with families to provide the best education possible for all Eastford Road Elementary School students.
